Zodiac Rib 5.5m

Zodiac RIB with Hypalon tubes (custom built replacements 2015) and Honda BF80 long shaft 4-stroke outboard (new March 2016). Comes with registered road trailer. Recently re-antifouled (generally kept in the water). Key features: Hydraulic steering (all components overhauled in the past 18 months); ICOM VHF radio; 2 x automatic bilge pumps; 60L built-in fuel tank; assorted spare fittings; general safety gear; navigation lights; tool kit; foot pump; fuel gauge not connected. I have used this RIB to transport and coach junior sailors for the past 3-4 years.

It is a fantastic workhorse - carries a payload of 1450kg (that is a lot of junior sailors). The best thing I ever did was fit a new Honda BF80 4-stroke outboard. This is easily the best outboard I've ever owned - reliable, powerful and very fuel efficient. The motor has 830 hours (the RIB is used for coaching 3-4 days per week) and has never missed a beat. It has been serviced per the Honda service schedule, the last service being at 800 hours.

The Hypalon (top quality) replacement tubes have been excellent - well worth the added expense. With a light load, the top speed is somewhere between 35 and 40 knots. Each additional (small) sailor reduces the top speed by about 1 knot. I'm taking a break from coaching for the next few years, hence the RIB is to be sold. I wouldn't expect anyone to bid on this vessel without viewing, discussing, and test driving (at my discretion).
