Firstly, don't send unreasonable offers of $1000, $2000 and so on, if that's your budget be realistic and search for "tinnies" if that's what you want to spend, they are more in you price range. Not even going to respond anymore to offers less than 10k. Up for Sale is a Yamaha 23ft fibreglass half cabin project boat. I am listing this on behalf of a friend and will describe it as much as I can. It was imported from Japan about 5 years ago with the idea of giving it some TLC and moving it on, time and circumstances have not let this happen so its time for it to find a new owner.
It would suit a person with some skills and plenty of enthusiasm, it potentially could be a $30k boat. The total length from end of engine to towbar hitch is 8.4m. The beam is 2.250m Total height on the trailer with the Anchor light folded down is 3m Boat weighs 1650kg and the trailer is 500kg so once it has fuel and gear you will need a vehicle with a 2.5 tonne minimum towing capacity. The hull is sound other than where the bow roller was torn off while being imported, this has left a 40mm hole on the front deck, see the picture of this. There are a few minor cracks in places but not structural and the gel-coat needs a good polish.
The side plastic windows would need replacing as they have sun cracks in them, the front screen ones are glass and have wipers. The steering cable is seized but that is only a $120 part and is easy to fix. The 115hp Suzuki 2-stroke does run with charged batteries and water flow is good. A more powerful rebuilt engine is available that will be a plug in swap, see this http://www.classifieds board.com.au/itm/150hp-Fuel-Injected-2-Stroke-Suzuki-Outboard-V6-2-7Litre-Extra-long-shaft-/phone7? SsPageName=STRK:MESE:IT. An odd thing is that it came with a 20 litre fuel tank but there is provision in the floor for a 100litre plus tank.
It has a toilet in the cabin and a sink under the drivers seat, the cabin itself has a lockable door and the hardtop has a sunroof that slides open. Owner has paperwork ready to do the Rego and boat code and will do it in the new buyers name to save them some money if it sells at the right price. With only a new steering cable and a battery and a fews hours work you could hit the water and do all the other cosmetic improvements in your spare time. I priced everything that is needed to bring it up to a high standard, this included pedestal seats, windows, paint, custom fuel tanks, all hinges, bollards, grab rails, batteries, steering cable, lights and anything I could find that needed replacing and it was just on $3000, but then after fitting these and all other work is done you would have a smick boat that would be close to $30k value. It has an anchor winch that works still when the batteries are charged ( batteries are stuffed though and would need replacing, seller may be getting one shortly) The trailer is sound and registered but needs the roller brackets adjusted to suit the boat the first time you launch it in the water.
It is for sale for a lot less than it cost, but due to circumstances it has to be moved on. It weighs a fair bit so don't think of pulling it with anything less that a big 4x4 or small truck, it did come to my place behind a 6 cylinder Commodore but that was risky and not legal. Sold as is with all its faults. Call for more info or viewing by appointment only. Cheers Pete Call the owner Oleg on phone or his home number 9653 3379 or if you cant get him call me on phone Thanks
