Price 49k negotiablePrivate sellerMake Custom BuiltLength 50 ft overallHull type single hullHull year 1972Title Classic cruising KetchAdd:Katharina of Hamburg is a Classic cruising Ketch / Motor SailorShe has classic lines, though huge volume & would make great live aboard .She is Oregon planked above the waterline & spotted gum below the waterline.Solidly built with approx 6" centres , copper fastened /clenched.I have owned her for the past 4 years & intended to live aboard her and take her up north and cruise the Great Barrier Reef & Whitsundays.My intention was to fully restore her to her former glory, though with work commitments I simply can't do her justice.Currently she is in need of some internal cosmetic work. Cushion covers replacing , general painting internally and some basic woodwork,Along with hatches & winchesto be refitted & re fastened to take her sailing offshore.Internally everything is there and structurally sound , though needs someone with basic carpentry skills to improve her presentation.EquipmentThe Ford Lees 80 hp diesel was fully rebuilt internally, with less than 30 hrs since rebuild ( new Pistons,rings etc, externally the components are original.The boat has basic lighting , electric head , 240v hot water system , 2burner Gas Oven , microwave ,though the dated electronics have since been removed , along with the Onan generator.(3kva)She now is running a 2000w inverter along with solar panel.2x N70Start batteries for starting main & giving power to an automatic bilge pump Arrangement.Her sail wardrobe comprises of a Mainsail /mizzen / Hank on storm sail & Furling headsail operated by a Furlex 400s.The sails are all in working order and have the usual wear for a boat of this age.2x Winches are self tailing and theInner headsail is worked via single speed winches.A Muir electric anchor winch is operational though not fitted at present.Anchoring gear is 1 x plow 1 x Admiralty pattern anchorThe Tender is a Zodiac roll up with a Mercury 3.3 hp.A pullpit has been fabricated along with stauntions though not fitted at present.In the time that I have owned her she has not taken any water in through the hull.This vessel is not ready to sail away into the sunset , though with minimal effort and outlay she could be sailed in a short period of time.With good fuel & water capacity ((water approx 1200L )& fuel approx 1000L)If you have some time to inject into her this would make an awesome live aboard / cruising yacht , solidly built with an abundance of sheer & character which makes her a "one of a kind".She is a William Garden Design Ketch with a clipper style bow & a figure head on the stem to finish her off.One for the enthusiast , dreamers welcome , if you have some imagination give me a call.If you like classic old style boats this could be the one!!
