1982 Whittley Voyager18ft 5.7m plus swim deck cabin cruiserHolden 308 v8 5.0L(inboard)Vicalen Jet DriveBoat and trailer have full 12mnth Vic Reg This boat is an extreamly rare peice of Victorian boating history. The boat was built in Victoria and factory fitted with a Holden 308 5litre v8 engine and vicalen jet drive system at the vicalen factory in mordialloc. The boat is the turn key and ready to go for any occasion. The jet drive makes this boat amazing in allot of conditions. Low water being where jet boats really stand out. I have idled out past tinnys stuck on the bottom.
They really are amazing in shallow water but it does not stop there they turn on a dime at idle or top speed. I have had this boat in 400mm of water and i have had it out in bass strait with 45knot winds. You could use this boat off shore, inshore, bays, rivers, dams, lakes, anywhere you want and you can use it for cruising, fishing, towing a tube or ski/wake boarder it ticks all the boxes . No matter the conditions this boat handles it well and gives you confidence. The Engine is fairly fresh and very tight. Im told it has a mild cam but do not know the specs.
It has a fully rebuilt Holley 600cfm 4barrel carby that runs a vacuum secondary. The motor runs electronic ignition with gt40 coil. The 308 is cooled through a heat exchanger which means that the motor actually runs coolant and 2 radiator tanks, the jet pumps cool water 2 these tanks cooling them down. This keeps the motor at optimum running temperature but keeps the salt or fresh water out of the engine. The motor has twin water cooled manifolds which run to marine mufflers and out under the swim board.
This setup is an absolute pleasure and super reliable starts first time everytime and will never leave you stranded. The motor has just been fully serviced with the following changed:*oil*oil filter*fuel filter*fuel lines*rebuilt holley carby*rocker covers*spark arrestor*spark plugs*2x New Batteries*drive beltThe jet system is very simple, there is a pickup in the hull with an impellor. This sucks the water up shooting it through and creating thrust out the back of the boat. You dont have anything hanging under the boat and there are no moving parts to hurt swimmers ect. Maintenance on the jet is very easy.
Grease the 2 nipples every few uses and you wont have any issues. The hull is in original but good condition. Sure it has a few marks on it but it is 38yrs old. Anyone who knows anything about boats knows that Whittley are renound for building strong , durable, quality boats and this is no exception. This is an absolute classic and has so many cool touches from the freshly sanded and stained wood paneling to the subtle whittley embossed steel work.
This boat is an absolute Gem and will only go up in value. It is a very regretful sale but we have just had twins and the toys must go :( The whittley has marine radio with Garmin sat nav/depth sounder/ fish finder it also has a bilge pump and engine bay exhaust fan it has a large 100l fuel tank under the floor. It has a very comfy cabin that you can sleep in and i have on many occasion. Plenty of storage for the safety stuff. Comes with oars and life vests.
The trailer is also a hydraulic braked 1982 whittley drive on tandem. It has a mounted spare wheel and has just been overhauled with the following new parts:*new wheel bearings*new brake shoes*new brake lines*new 2000kg trailer hitch*new 2000kg hydraulic master cylinder*new 2000kg whinch*new led lights (brake/turn/number plate) The trailer is in good condition and tows very well. It is very well balanced. Tows straight and true. The boat can be launched and retreived with 1 person if required.
It is that simple. I have done this many times and can give a demonstration of this to the buyer if required Inspections welcome at chirnside park. Call/txt /pm if you have any questions. Can send more pics phoneNo swaps, no silly offers, no scams Listing May end early as boat is advertised elsewhere Regards Michael
