Would you like to own the world’s most unusual houseboat/caravan? What is so unusual about it? It has two massive 4 meter slide-outs like in a caravan but the pontoon also come out and offer massive stability 3.6m on the water. The inside floor space becomes 2.2 m wide which makes it a perfect dance floor or enough space for a table of ten. The slide-outs work either on the trailer or in the water and run on a 12 V air compressor and pneumatic double action cylinders from Festo.
Transformis is a small company on the Sunshine Coast who builds custom houseboats that can be easily towed from A to B to explore all our great waterways Australia has to offer. The “Inspire” has been built for survey but is currently not registered in survey. It is licensed for 10 people and can sleep 4 people on double click clack sofa beds and could sleep more on blow up mattresses on the floor. A fully functional kitchen plus BBQ outside will make entertaining a breeze. We had the “Inspire” moored in the Noosa River for over a year.
The Inspire was completed mid 2015 after testing at the end of 2014 which was the date of registration. It has a separate shower and toilet cubicle, a large pull out pantry, large fridge/freezer and 3 solar panels and 360 Ah batteries to keep it running continuously. The black water tank is a 20 l cartridge like in a caravan. The fresh water capacity is 400 l and a grey water holding tank has 150 l. The fuel tank for the 60 HP Honda 4 stroke outboard is 60 l.
The engine has only done 10 hours of work. It is made from very expensive German lightweight polypropylene sheets called Monopan and aluminium hulls. The tare weight of the boat is 2.6T and the aluminium trailer is 500kg. We are towing the rig with a Ford Ranger and it handles rather well. The trailer is designed to drive the boat on and off easily.
This model is 8.40m or 27.55 feet long and weighs 3.1 T dry including the trailer. For obvious reasons you would try to travel with as little water and fuel on board and fill up just before launching somewhere. The “Inspire” has been featured in articles worldwide and we had a huge response from people interested in a concept like this. Please find links to the articles and many more photos on www.transformis.com.au . There is also a business opportunity to build these boats is you are interested.
Also the hulls have just been antifouled and the trailer brakes had a service. Trailer and boat are currently registered in Queensland and the boat can be viewed in Noosa. For further information please contact Claudia on phone. Genuine offers invited.
