This is easily the coolest thing I have ever owned. Custom built house boat/caravan hybrid, built from plans supplied by Berkleley Engineering. Pine hull with a fibreglass skin, pine and bulsa wood above water level - remarkebly light! Trailer custom built for the boat with an ATM of 1300kg - I can tow this with a small SUV. 9.9HP 4 stroke Yamaha wih forward controls... you'd be surprised at how quick this is on the water!
It travels extremely well on the water - it's quite broad and it handles wake from faster boats well. This is a smooth water vessel - it's pictured in the Pumistone Passage. With a draft of only 0.2m I was able to get into a lot of places you would otherwise struggle with in the passage. On land it's a nice little caravan - has both mains power and a 12v battery system. As fun as it is to use this I just don't have the time to get out on the water as much as I was when I purchased it 12 months ago, let alone finish off the work that was being done on it. Some points to note- Everything above the solid hull on the outside has had 2-3 coates of Thermoshield.
It cost quite a bit to do this but it made a big different to the temperature inside- The inside has also been freshly painted (a few months ago)- The trailer is a beauty, very solid. Built in 2015. Tare of 320kg, ATM of 1300kg. Cable brakes - Boat registered to December, trailer registered to July 2020- Mains power plug at the rear but also fitted with 2 x 250W solar panels, professionally installed on the roof. Solar charge controller inside- When I purchased it, it came filled to the gills with camping and caravan gear.
Most of it will be included with the sale but I am yet to grab it out of storage. Consider it all a bonus - from memory there was a mains powered grill, a toilet, cups and plates etcThere isn't a huge amount of work left to do to 'finish' this, depending on what stage you want to take it to. I have purchased quite a few extras (solar powered, roof mounting heat extraction fans for example) that will also be included in the salePlease don't bother with low ball offers, I am not in a huge rush to sell and I really want this to go to someone who is going to actively use it.
