Timber Wooden Heron Sailing Dinghy

Heron Sailing Dinghy 9235 Timber Heron dinghy 9235 from 1975/76 season. Constructed of Ply, Tasmanian Oak, Western Red Cedar. Currently named “Blue Bard” Not set up for racing just cruising. Extensively rebuilt over last several years. Work includes; *New bottom hull by previous owner still excellent condition.

*New Cedar floorboards *New Cedar rear seat/other Cedar seats repaired/refinished. *New rigging/fittings one year old including stainless mast stays, fairleads, ropes, pulleys etc. More than $500 spent. *Either Brass or stainless screws used. *Sails serviced, good for several more years.

New Jib stainless wire. *Hull was repainted with marine paint. *Completely cleaned and re-varnished inside and topsides with marine varnish *Rudder taken apart cleaned up and re-varnished. *Swing centreboard taken out, cleaned up and re-varnished. *Oregon mast/gaff/boom which have been tidied up and varnished.

*Oregon oars cleaned up and varnished with new rubbers. *New galvinised rowlocks. *Inbuilt buoyancy tanks. Note: After a year of sailing the hull has several nicks which have been sealed with epoxy and centreboard has a few scratches. Nothing that effects seaworthiness.

At least a few more seasons before the hull or interior needs repainting/re-varnishing. All pictures were taken a few days before this add. TRAILER Trailer was modified by previous owner to fit the heron. Trailer has not been registered for several years (never got round to it) as I usually transport it on another trailer that’s already registered. The trailer is perfectly towable.

It has a removable light board that works perfectly and should have no trouble in passing an inspection for registration. THIS SAILING DINGHY IS READY TO SAIL NOW!
