Historic 45 foot timber Sydney Harbour tug boat "Koala". Due to the closure of a heritage organisstion and a move overseas our dear old WW2 tug is looking for a new custodian. This beautiful girl is soaked in history, and deserves a new loving owner. She is a running concern, but definitely not for the faint hearted. Importantly, her hull is very good, strong and leak free.

We slipped her for major out of water work in 2023 and found her in good order, largely thanks to her intact copper sheathing which extends to the waterline. From the deck up, Koala needs love. Dry rot has taken hold in her superstructure and this needs attention now. Her 8V71 Detroit diesel is operational and in good health, as is her massive twin disc gearbox and giant propellor. She has a comprehensive electrical system installed monitoring battery voltages, maintinging bilge levels and powering cameras for remote monitoring.

Currently residing on a commercial mooring near Kissing Point on Sydneys Parramata river, the new owner will have to arrange their own mooring or liase with the mooring owner to continue the mooring arrangement within 30 days of ownership transfer.
