Featured Refinements: Timber Boat
Here I have for the sale the Alma IV. She is a beautifully semi-restored 1960's ex-cray boat that is in its final stages of restoration and just needs someone to do the final assembly and finishing. The last photo above will show her prior to restoration when she was still a working vessel.Hundreds of hours of work and big dollars invested by a talented shipwright and our family. She has an extensive photo file and was also completely professionally surveyed only recently with a full bill of health of all timbers and sub-structures. There is far too much detail to go into, however please see below some key points: Full deck shelf up restoration, new or modified forward and aft deck beams, 25mm ply epoxy sheathed decksBrand new wheelhouse of clear Oregon, Cedar and Celery Top Pine.
Fully painted and epoxyed with deep gloss varnish finish on inside of wheelhouseDecks finished in complete sealed Norglass Northane 2K (like gelcoat) with custom built hatches and watertight seals on all deck mouldingsSpotted Gum capping railsHull was extensively refurbished with any seams attended too and major raking, hardening up and re-caulking was performed, then primed and antiifouled.Full antifoul redone in July 2018Perkins 4.236 Marine Diesel 90hp with Borg-Warner velvet drive gearbox.V-berth with all new timbers and flooringFully functional wet-wellThere is so much work performed to get to the stage we are at that it is not feasible to list, nor room to show photographic evidence of the restoration thus far.The boat will also come with nearly everything needed to get it operational with just a few fittings and electronic wiring needed. Complete set of stainless rails that go the full way around, stabilising mast and boom completely restored, steering gear and wheel. The list goes on! We have all the equipment not currently onboard but stored conveniently on a pallet and the engine is mounted on a trundle set up to get it moved easily (refer photos). This really is a massive opportunity for someone looking to acquire a boat that is very rare and will give many years of enjoyable motoring.
When she's finished she'll be like nothing else on the harbour. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to arrange an inspection. The boat in on a floating marina on the North Shore and any inspection is welcome. All other equipment is at a warehouse in Artarmon and is to be removed within 14 days of the auction being completed. Boat is to be removed from mooring within 14 days of completion of auction, or arrangements made with marina to take over monthly payments which I will assist with.
Please do not bid unless you are 100% sure you are buying and have funds in your account!!!! I have had to relist the boat due to the last buyer having issues getting cleared funds to complete the sale.PAYMENT MUST BE MADE WITHIN 4 DAYS OF AUCTION ENDING.
