The Mutimer Surf Rescue Chariot 17ft on a drive on Tinka trailer. We had one of these here at Glenelg years ago, always drew a crowd when out on display or on the water. David Mutimer was a New Zealander who moved to Australia and back and back again. I believe he built about 17 of these over a period in the 70's and eighty's, used extensively along the east coast. He created his design from studying whales breaching and diving as he was amazed at their ability to shed water efficiently and smoothly.

He also used this design to produce the Smuggler 6.3m which had many well regarded iterations. Originally fitted with ford v8 (later Leyland v8) inboard and Hamilton Jet with a top speed of 50 mph they spent a lot of time used privately for extreme sport.
