"The Tube" has an impeccable race record, in both Ski Racing & Circuit Power Boat Racing, winner & record holder of the Pulba Island 2 up Ski Race, defeating "Luoise J's" record by 10 minutes, this record still stands today, Sydney Bridge to Bridge Women" Open division 2nd, the list is too long to list, I still have all the trophies to validate, Various Australian Speed & marathon Ski Race titles, in many divisions, including Men's & Women's Open, consecutive years, Many great Circuit race victories at Windsor Marine Stadium, St George motor boat Club & Deep-water Motor boat Club, racing, Chaos, Holley< Puff, & many more. This beautiful boat was built for me in late 1975, by the two Legends of boat building, Bert & Bruce Everingham,( it was in fact one of the last that they built together. When I finished racing in the early '80s, i sold the boat, less motor, To aq family at Sackville North, in NSW, who put a standard water-ski motor 7 had it for years, the boat was then purchased by a very good friend, Darrell "Bunger" Brown, who had another legend, Ray Jones, fit a Rolls Royce Merlin engine in the boat, set up for twin propellers, running through a specially designed hand made Jones gearbox. Both men died before the boat ever turned a prop or ever hit the water, They re-named the boat "Merlin". A few years after Darrell's death I purchased the boat again, so it has come back to where it began.
I had the intention to restore this glorious craft to it's original glory & do exigition outings with it. I have taken all the over-coat paint off, back to the original, Iv'e Blue Printed the bottom & returned the hull correctly to a single shaft drive, The is a brand new cav plate & gear, the original fuel tanks, seats & mounting brackets, foot override pedals & everything ready to re-assemble, there is no enginge or gearbox, just hull, trailer & many fittings. At 74 years old next week, I have decided to go deep sea fishing & adventuring instead, so I am putting this boat, on it's original trailer with all it's history for sale. So good was this & every Everingham built, that there is not one stress fracture anywhere in the hull or deck, & it has never suffered any damage or been involved in any accident. I would rather explain to a perspective buyer all that is with this boat & it's history, as there isn't space to fit it here, I have all the paint & will re-paint the boat back to it's original colours if required, the only thing we can't do is have the "Brown Brothers" sign-writing done as it was done back then, but we can get it very close, anyway, give me a call, before I change my mind.
