1985 Mutiny 28 Yacht Project I originally purchased this boat from the owner where it had been sitting on a property and had sustained damage from sitting incorrectly in a cradle. There is a small repair to do aft of the trailing edge of the keel (6 inch crack on outer laminate.)A competent fibreglasser could repair within a couple of days. As seen from the photos the interior has been completely stripped as almost all timber within the yacht had some sort of water / moisture damage. It will need new sub-floor (simple and lightweight ply frames glassed over.)New bulkheads, etc.All the interior fibreglass moulded furniture was cut out but is included. It is in several pieces and would not be much effort to re-install should you wish to keep the original layout.Otherwise it is a blank slate hull and deck ready for whatever fitout style you would like. The Hull and deck are is reasonably good cosmetic condition, my plans were to respray topsides and deck but they look okay as is, there is a little bit of gelcoat wear in the cockpit as to be expected with a boat of this age. Other items included: -Volvo 2002 18hp marine diesel with saildrive (runs well, but will need overhaul as it hasn't been started for a while (it has been removed from boat and is regularly turned over. All it requires is a new exhaust elbow, about $400 for a stainless one) All wiring, gauges, keys and start panel included.-Stainless Fuel tank ( around 40 litres)-Pedestal Wheel steering (still connected, wheel in storage-Complete set of cushions ( modern grey colour in good condition)-Mast and Boom-A couple of sails (fair to good condition from what I remember, maybe 2 headsails and 1 main)-2 burner gas stove-2 x Primary 2 speed winches-Genoa tracks have been removed but are included as is genoa blocks.
Really a big jigsaw puzzle that needs reassembling by someone who has more time than me at the moment. Unfortunately I have several projects, renovations to complete and do not have the time to complete this boat. It is currently stored in a boatyard and will need to be removed or relocated to your own site as the yard is being re-developed in the next couple of months. Please do not bid or buy if you are unable to move this yacht.I can recommend a good local yacht transporter ( same company that originally moved the boat for me) At a rough guess it would be around $1000-1200 to have it moved to another site of your choice within Sydney) These are a popular Peter Cole production yacht design ( very similar look and interior layout of the Traditional 30).They are currently selling in the $20-30000 price bracket and could be a cheap way for someone with reasonable boat-building skills to get out on the water in a modern looking competitive racer/cruiser. A quick internet search of Mutiny 28 will give you an idea of finished boat and the look of the interior, there's a few currently for sale.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or would like to organise a viewing. I will cancel any bids or offers from buyers who have not contacted me or inspected the yacht. I will be advertising this yacht locally and reserve the right to cancel this ad should it sell beforehand. I am open as always to all reasonable offers. Please have a look at my other current listings as I am having a yearly clear out of boating items, photography and audio gear, renovation materials, etc.
