Motorboat Swiftcraft Stiletto 14 Ft Johnson Javelin 85 Hp (Inner West Nsw)

The boat is no longer being used. It needs a good hose out as the cover blew off in the wind some time ago and there are some leaves. The engine runs well with heaps of power. I had the engine checked when I first got it in 2018 and it has good and even compression across all cylinders. A common problem with these Johnsons is when cold they need a squirt of "start you bastard" to make them kick over.

This is annoying as you need to lift the engine cover to squirt into the manifold. Once running, it starts and stops all day with no problem. We have never been stuck out in the water ever, even when the engine has been off for over an hour. It is no biggie anyway it is not hard to lift the cover off even if already in the water but generally unnecessary. Needs the carburettor gaskets to be redone and comes with the gasket kit.

CDI block already replaced (still have the old one as it did not make it start easier). There is no battery as the old one failed.Last time I tried starting it the starter motor spindle didn't go up far enough to engage so it needs a new solenoid or potentially a new starter motor but the previous owner told me he replaced solenoids now and then and they are not expensive. It is a good little boat and lots of fun for 3 to 4 passengers. We are no longer using it now and it comes with lots of extras like life jackets, a knee board with rope, oars etcAlso spare plugs and some electrical bits including an ignition light to check the timing etc. Also a transfer case oil pump (I already replaced the oil once).
