Boat Project 5.4m Yalta Half Cabin Cruiser With Damaged Transom & Tinka Trailer

For sale. Damaged 5.4m Yalta Half Cabin Cruiser with Tinka trailer. All unregistered and with no motor. I believe the Yalta is very similar to a Haines Hunter boat of the same vintage and was made in Queensland. This boat like many boats had a bad transom which I started repairing.

I had all intention of painting the boat and repairing the transom but am unable to complete.The boat has been split into two by removing the top half (cabin) of the boat from the hull. This is necessary to successfully repair the transom. The hull and topsides are in pretty good condition other than some small areas where I have filled existing screw holes on the topsides.The boat has all the windows removed (to aid in painting) and excellent bucket seats and upholstery. A 100 litre stainless steel underfloor fuel tanks is included. The trailer is a Tinka brand trailer and in good condition with good tyres.

Bearings have just been inspected and repacked. What needs to be done? 1. Replace transom. The hard work has been done with the boat in half and the rotten timber transom removed2. Repair areas of the floor near the transom and a few other soft spots3. Reassemble.

The topsides need to be rescrewed (or riveted together as it came from the factory). This should be a relatively easy task. Windows would need to be re-glazed with new perspex4. Sand off filler at screw holes5. Repaint. The hull is in reasonable aesthetic condition but the topsides could do with a lick of paint, but is perfectly usable as is, if the transom was replaced.

You need to come and inspect.
