Product Type: Motorboats
Alloy Lifeboat 1965 -18 ft. Built in Scotland.Up for the grabs here is a piece of maritime history. This is a solid rolled plate alloy round bilge double ender lifeboat.Quite rare and will suit someone who wants something bulletproof but verydifferent ! I'm going to list it at the price of the value of the trailer and let the market decide the outcomeWill consider a buy it now price if sensible.Photos are in no particular sequence.Hot hand riveted.. ----L.O.A. Is 18 ft.Beam is 7 ft.- Draught is 2.85 ft. Originally built for 19 pax.- Build date 1.2.65.Has the Ministry of Transport build date stamped in to the gunnels area as shown in the photo.Origin of build in Scotland likely by A and J Inglis and Son who built them as contractors for the Loch Lomond Steamship Company. There is a couple of photos of almost identical sister ships shown in the photosSits on a custom made 11/2006 build- 2 tonne ATM dual axle trailer with electric brakes on one axle which has gone through a sandblast, prime and paint process as per photos attached.Travels extremely well balanced. Can supply a travel permit from RMS for $28 .00 .Previously registered in Victoria or alternatively can be picked up by tilt tray.Note : If towing all bearings will need checking/greasing and /or replacing if deemed required.
If towing a long distance I would suggest tyres be replaced for peace of mind. I am happy to assist with this if required.I have lightly sandblasted the outer hull completely with light 30/15 gauge abrasives. Inner and outer hull has been 2 pack primed ready for topcoating and minor fairing if you are the fussy typeHas prop shaft and prop. No rudder but fairly easy to have one fabricated in S/Steel. My intention was to 2 pack paint hull externally Flag Blue with burgundy gunnels externally and antique cream internally but I’m shutting up shop and retiring.
Prior to topcoating flooring tabs will be needed to be welded in and sub floor tanks/motor beds etc installed. With the floor installed it is then onto seating/canopies etc. It really is a bare slate that is only limited by your imaginationHave a 2 cylinder 15 hp Droffin diesel or a Ruggerini unit that would go nice in this hull if interested at a fairly negotiated priceHas been previously registered and has HIN number.AU-WWA123490 DN4.Able to hold in our yards for up to a month free whilst pickup and /or transport is arranged if paid for.
