48ft Ex Prawn Trawler Planked In 2” Thick Spotted Gum Built In 1974 Project

For sale is my 48ft ex prawn trawler project boat This is a project boat. I haven’t been able to work on the vessel for some time now due to covid restrictions. No longer have funding to complete for the same reason. Vessel was last slipped 3 years and 4 months ago. 3 coats of commercial grade international antifoul applied over tie coat.

Caulked and seams sealed at time of antifoul and new anodes. See pics for out of water at this time. Due for slipping again as coating is wearing thin. 18 months ago new sections of decking were laid and a recon perkins 6354 was lowered into the engine room sitting in place for installation. A twin disc mg506 3.5:1 ratio gearbox and adapter plate is also onboard ready to be fitted.

Vessel has keel cooling plumbing in place for engine and gearbox cooling. Keel cooling for auxilarey. Hydraulic steering in place with new pump and hoses fitted just over 3 years ago. Ready to be attached to motor. Still can be steered without the aid of the hydraulic pump.

Comes with 6 solar panels and 800 amp hours of deep cycle batteries. 2 separated regulators charge their own 190 amp battery each and a 3rd regulator charges a 225amp battery that powers the wifi 4g modem and the 8 channel swann cctv camera setup. There are 3 bilge pumps, each with their own deep cycle battery and regulator and solar panels, the voltages are show on digital led displays and can be remotely viewed on the cctv setup. Any issues can quickly be picked up and viewed on any phone tablet or laptop. See pictures for further info on cctv and batteries and solar setup.

There is a 4kw petrol inverter generator onboard as well as a fridge and 16amp smart battery charger. Shore power can be plugged into the generator and appliances run onboard including the fridge, charger and any power tools and chargers you may need to carry out work onboard. The boat is registered till april and the mooring which is included is registered for 11 months and will be transfered with the sale. Just the value of the gear onboard as well as the engine and gearbox is well over $10000. Selling without reserve and will be sold for what ever price the bidding reaches.

There is a lot of work required however its a lot of boat for what will probably be not much money with loads of gear included and a mooring and rego paid for. A large roll of hemp caulking and some caulking irons, two tins of antifoul and some primer etc all onboard to help you get started. Some other tools and extension leads etc. There is also a 4 stroke hi thrust 9.9 hp yamaha outboard on the transom bracket, controls and cables etc inside the wheel house. I have a fuel line and tank for it as well.

I used this when I did some work painting the top side etc 18 months ago. In calm conditions this outboard has enough power to move the vessel at 3-4 knots which is plenty to go and tie up along side a jetty or wharf to do some work.
