26 Foot Steel John Pugh bilge keel sailing boat and mooring for sale. The boat is in fair shape only and needs someone handy to get it back to the condition it should be in. I bought it to fix up and sail 18 months ago and never got around to fixing it. The family motored out of the mooring and then sailed on Western Port Bay half a dozen times then we stopped going out. I live about 3 hours from the boat and mooring so it became too hard to talk the family into going sailing.

So, the good news is that having not been on the boat for 11 months the boat was still floating at the mooring, so the automatic bilge pump was still working as needed. Like most boats this boat doesn't have a dry bilge. The boat has a bilge keel, which is sort of like a winged keel that means it sits flat and upright when the tide goes out. Handy for the tidal areas of Western Port Bay. The bad news is that nobody had been onto the boat to miraculously fix the required maintenance, put the quarter berths in properly, played around with the Yanmar inboard engine, updated the interior, etc etc.

Seeing as we are just not finding the time to go out on the boat, we've decided to sell it. The mooring alone is probably worth $1,500 to $2,000 to the right person. The mooring will need to be transferred across to the buyer's name. This will cost the buyer a few hundred dollars if the buyer wants the mooring. The boat sold for $10,000 about 10 years ago (to another owner), but isn't worth that now.

With a couple of thousand spent on it and many hours of work done on it by the new owner maybe, but not as it is now. This is probably not the boat for someone wanting to jump on and sail away. You will need to play around with the fuel lines to stop the motor cutting out after 10 or 15 mins (some air getting in somewhere). Because the engine is currently unreliable for motoring / sailing in and out of tidal areas I won't be taking people out for trial sails. The boat is for sale as is where is.The boat last had an antifoul in 2016 so this will need to be done soon. etc.

As previously stated this boat and mooring is sold as is where is.
