16 Ft Maricat Catamaran

I am selling a Maricat 4.8 project I bought to teach my teenage son to sail. As with teenagers he was keen and wanted it until I started working on it and he has not been near it since. I sail bigger yachts so know what I am doing with the work, but do not have the time to use this on my own. It is also easier to rig with two people. For those that don't know the 4.8, the Maricat 4.8 is a rig without a boom (a bit like a sailboard) therefore nothing hard to hit your head with kids.

An eighties idea that did work and worth a google. I have done a nice job putting it together and it is ready for sailing in the coming season for someone keen and willing to do just a little tidying up (mainly a scrub down). You can benefit from my work and my sons lack of interest. I would rather see it used than be wasted. I have had new tramps made from Heavy Duty truck side vinyl so they are kind on knees.

Checked, fixed and tweaked the rigging and all works as No1 photo shows. Made a new steering tiller and restored rudders. Bought a good jib for it and fixed the single trapeze. Also have fixed the trailer up well with stainless hull carriers, replaced the tyres, tubes and bearings and checked lights. No rego though.

Includes old but working sand wheels. Also has a trailer mounted sail and accessories box. In all it has been checked and is in very good condition and only needs someone to care for her and sail her. A good buy lots of fun at $800. I won't consider stupid offers though.
