She sank needs full restoration (see notes)the sinking she sank due to failing seacock on toilet she sank in 26 meters of water to a very muddy bottom with lots of silt she was pre paired & lifted carefully over a number of weeks by a professional salvage crew using float bags and barge she was back on the surface on the 6/3/2018 & slipped on 7/3/2018 for repairs damage due to sinking engine s/s rail & systems and very very dirty oily diesel etc though hull & deck and cabin looked just the same as before sinking (in structure) amazing! Engine need rebuilt or replace (see notes) the engine is a lister diesel number 7012 fitted in December 1975 the engine was not running at time of sinking and has not be treated since vessel has been re floated fitted with a velvet drive Borg Warner Gearbox I have the service manual for engine & gear box its dry!
Engine will need rebuilt or replacement more info on hull & cabin ( see notes)the hull had work done out of water to the value of $ 6000 completed 18/5/2017 mainly caulking & changing some of the fastenings antifouling etc I have the invoices the next slipping was yesterday 7/3/2018 to find out why she sank this was due to a seacock toilet valve failing at this time a small caulking repair was done about 10 inches starboard side and all seacocks at and below water line were plugged with timber plugs with sikaflex & tails cut off all work done by shipwrights at boat yard the same boat yard laid the deck on this vessel a little over ten years ago invoice on way the deck is all hard and in good shape as a laid deck it looks great and very special up on the flying bridge though some of the varnish on deck is coming off a laid timber deck always looks great the cabin is mostly good with a bout 5% to 10% rot in it and a little on the flying bridge as well as some in the capping on the gunwhale maybe 1% the hull looks good and shipwrights found it to be sound condition for a 1942 vessel however It would be a must to make another inspection out of water by shipwright or surveyor before going to sea! Better safe than sorry!
