Hi Up for auction here is a Bertram Novacraft. Made Old School style- laid up with 24 oz glass. It has never been moored- ever. It came on a trailer which I have since sold.It is not really a boat that you should be trailing around on the road anyway- it is real wide and needs to be moored-but first in my humble opinion it needs to have its head chopped off !!! Lets face it -its a throwback to the 80's.- and in its current configuration I can only say it is fugly and impractible.First off it is flybridge controlled only so up you go in all types of shite weather to steer its course- whilst everyone else sits inside.- laughing at youThe enclosed cabin might actually suit some but it has no real bunk accommodation in its current state except up forard and then it is dark and cramped.
Yes you could install a secondary steering station if you wanted inside the enclosed cabin and you can totally reconfigure the cabin area-up to you the buyer. But in my opinion this boat is crying out for a total redesign. I had planned to turn it into a simple but totally awesome centre consul fishing and /or dive boat. How ? Cut off the flybridge right down to the base of the existing window lines, strengthen the existing fibreglass base and fit a wrap around windscreen.Fabricate and install a centre consul steering command control utilizing the existing hydraulic steering unit from the flybridge and at the same time use the existing wide body with high freeboard aft section as the platform to fish/seat.dive etc. The 2 x 480 Mercruisers and legs had quite a lot of money thrown at them before I acquired it ( over $10k ) and I have a pretty extensive folder that goes with the boat with all the receipts etc.
It has a custom fabricated s/steel underfloor fuel tank. The motors /legs will need servicing as a rule after sitting dormant for the last 2 years but I ran them up approx a year ago and they are strong as. The hull is in extremely good order and condition overall. No issue in any way with the stringers/subfloor and or Transom. All strong as From the keel to the gunnels has been rubbed back and primed ready for topcoating. New gunnell rubbers will be required. Currently internally it has basic framing for L shaped bench seating with a sink unit/ camping gas stove/12 v fridge under bench coverThe photos show the boat in its current state. If you chose to refurbish it in its current state the window perspex would all need replacing.
( The frames are all good and just need a paint ).Seats required on the flybridge and maybe a couple of new fresh gauges. Entirely up to whoever buys it how they run with it but either way it has real good bones and after all it is a Bertram build- not to sneezed at. We can arrange delivery at purchasers costs. I am in the throes of all but retiring from the marine game and this boat is one of about 35 cruisers/yachts /runabouts I am selling off over the next year or so. We are always happy to arrange inspections and you are welcome to bring any competent marine mechanics and /or shipwrights to inspect the boat-as long as you pre- arrange it in good time.Just don't turn up unannounced or you'll be shown the gate quick smart Any general questions please fire them off.
I will answer and upload on to the page so all can see.Can email any specific photos if needed. Hullkickers and Lowballers will be ignored. A buy it now price will be considered but only if no bids are lodged first. Happy to take genuine phone inquiries on phone but only after 6 pm as I am unable to hear the phone during working hours.
