I'm gearing up to sell off some nice old projects that we have traded ,salvaged and inherited over the years.Over the hill and far away at 64 on New Years day I've decided to let go of the hard work and get a little bit smarter.Apart from that I couldnt finish off all the projects we have even if I lived till I was 164 Being up front- I especially do not want to deal with any timewasters, prop spinners or armchair experts-especially the ones who are oxygen thieves and know everything but nothing. This Bertie is a good old girl who apart from bending one of its rudders a little (about 15mm ) and one of its props a bit more ( 60 mm ) on a sandbar is fit for a good life into the years to come.Has twin 6 cylinder shaft driven BMW D190 diesels with over $22k recently spent on mechanical ( motor ) refurbs and rewiring etc.The complete package is there and in good order but if you wished to you could do some minor cosmetics such as cushions/blinds/clears refurb it would please a princess.Needs a stove fitted.May have one of two I can help with there if needed.The Biminis and extended flybridge deck framework is extra solid s/steel and in good order.Very Expensive $$$We craned it out and put it one of my hardstands at our yard to inspect the damage done.We sodablasted the hull clean to do a thorough inspection.The port side bronze rudder was bent out of alignment to approx 15-20mm. The port side shaft was also bent out of alignment adjacent to the prop to a degree of 60mm.The prop shaft seal unit was pulled out of the hull and requires fibreglassing in prior to the prop shaft being reinstalled.The collision with the sandbar saw the port side motor pulled 100mm back from its front motor mounts out of the motor stringer and will need refixing to the motor bedrail.Again this will need to be completed prior to the new shaft being installed.

How did it happen you ask ? Well - to me it looks like someone was a little bit ( maybe real heavy ) heavy handed in transferring from Reverse to Forward , in the main forgetting Neutral was in the middle to be selected also. Maybe a drink or a thousand was had too. ? Dont really know but it hit a sandbar in all the confusion and- bingo- one lonely Bertie looking for a tow back to its Jetty at Woy Woy. The both rudders have been removed as has the shaft and prop.

They have been taken down to Porters Props for a new shaft to be spun up and both the rudders to be straightened and electronically aligned to specification.Cost around $3k. Hull has been sodablasted clean then 2 pack marine primed up to waterline. 2 pack Antifoul tie coat applied then new Black antifoul applied ( one coat only at this stage- another needed just prior to relaunch). Topsides would benefit from a decent cut and buff and other minor cosmetic niceties could be done to her but I'm leaving this up to others.I'll take some internal photos and list some other details as I think of it early next week when I return to work and as time permits.Included in this auction is the cost for supply/delivery of the new s/steel shaft and the 2 rudders from Porters props in Sydney Will be registered at time of sale The starting price reflects without doubt that it will need some work undertaken Other than that it is selling on an as is where is basis. Note : Dependent on purchasers time frames and work we already have in hand we may be able to assist or arrange any works required to be undertaken There is either real long term enjoyment to be had here with a little bit of work at a bargain price or if your looking to make some thousands profit flipping it-well- your choice.
