Hi, Up for auction here is a Bertram- Novacraft 24 ft--ex Flybridge. This boat was as can be seen in the first photo attached- a flybridge cruiser. To put it bluntly it had a head like a robbers dog- ugly as and on top of that was as unpractical as you could get.Top steered and a useless cabin area.Very un Bertram like. The previous owner had spent in excess of $10k on the motors /legs.( A concise and self explanatory file showing where the money went comes with the boat ) I knocked the top off it so to speak after deciding it was much more suited to becoming either an open boat or a centre consul set up. The main stringers were found to be in perfect order and still protected nicely from age and elements by their fibreglass wrapping.Photo number 4 shows where we installed F17 40x40mm hardwood cross members prior to laying new floor sheets.Between midships and aft is where the large sub floor s/steel tank sits under an accessible cover. All floor sheets were rolled underneath with epoxy resin prior to install then topped with flowcoat. The edges and joints have been sealed with glass and resin. The motors have been run up regularly over the last 2 years but not in the last 3 months. These motors and legs have had an absolute fortune spent on them.Having said that they may not be everyones cup of tea and without any argument I am quite prepared to retain them if not required and discount the end sale price by $2000.00 with the successful buyer. The hull is in good condition from keel to topsides.Has been primed and topcoated to finish level up to turn of chines.Primed and topcoated from chines to gunnels. Light sandback and one more finish coat to finish off hull between chines and gunnels required.Photos 2 & 3 show hull after being painted The hull could also be podded to take either a single or double motor set up.
Yes it is an unfinished project ,yet one that could become the perfect fishermans or divers weapon of choice. Will go anywhere you point it.A bit of work for heaps of reward.A good stable base to add your own concepts The centre consul that is shown in photos 7 & 8 is one of two of similar size and character we have that may suit the new owners. They are not included in the auction but both are available for sale to prospective buyers of this boatThe consuls are simply shown in the listing to give an idea of possible concept.Photos 9 & 10 show the hull sitting on a large galvanized dual axle trailer. This is basically a brand new trailer ( never registered ) we use as a yard trailer. Not included in the auction and not for sale.Photo 10 shows a suitable hardstand that is available for hire to transport boat.**** Note - This boat when set up correctly will require a trailer with a GVM of approx 3-3.5 tonnes.*** Picture 12 shows the Teak duckboard that goes with the hull. We can load our end with a yard crane at a reasonable nominal cost.
